Dead End Guy Grips

Dead end guy grips, installed at the top, breaker, and anchor, provide today's most effective method for securing guy strand. This unique, one-piece dead-end features a neat appearance and is free from bolts or high-stress holding devices. It was the first to offer the cabled loop—a feature that enhances durability, simplifies tensioning, and enables adaptability to multiple guying scenarios.

Dead end guy grips are crafted from the same material as the strand they secure. They are designed for use with hardware held in a fixed position and should not be allowed to rotate or spin about the strand's axis. Additionally, they are not intended for use as tools (e.g., come-alongs, pulling-in grips).

General Recommendations

Dead end guy grips are designed for pulling poles in power and communication line construction. They are suitable for standard pulling wires with a diameter of 1" or smaller. Made of similar steel wire, these dead ends can be applied to galvanized steel and maintain their grip whether the attached conductor is relaxed or strained.

Offset Tips

To simplify installation, dead end guy grips feature an offset end. This design makes the tip easier to handle and wrap around the cable during installation.

Reusable After Initial Installation

After the initial installation, the dead end can be removed and reapplied twice to re-tension the cable. However, if removal is needed three months after installation, a new dead end should be used.

Color Coding

For easy identification of pull wire size, dead ends are color-coded on both legs of the product.

Wired Loop

Dead end guy grips are manufactured with cable loops for all strand sizes.
