The Suspension Set for OPGW is primarily designed for connections on straight-sided drop towers or line towers with a turning angle of less than 15°. Composed of inner and outer pre-twisted wires, a hanging head, and supporting connecting fittings, this set delivers reliable performance in overhead installations. Its clamp grip strength exceeds the rated tensile strength of the fiber optic cable by 10%–20%, effectively transferring axial loads while distributing radial compressive stress. This design better protects the fiber optic cable, avoiding bending stresses and stress concentration.
Equipped with excellent fatigue resistance, the Suspension Set for OPGW also functions as a damping support for power cables, enhancing overall system stability.
Applications
OPGW prefabricated suspension clamps are mainly used to support overhanging OPGW fiber optic cables. They are suitable for OPGW cables, conductors, and ground wires in transmission lines, with recommended use on lines with a turning angle of fewer than 30 degrees.
